Secretary of State The Rt. Hon Greg Clark Opens Jamil Trust

It was an honour for the Jamil Trust Charity that The Rt Hon Greg Clark MP of Tunbridge Wells and Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities has officially inaugurated on 13 August 2022 . 

He said it is an amazing and important initiative at the right time when many are facing financial hardship due to hike in cost of living crises. This initiative will help millions with a free access to computers and which may help them to feel inclusive. 

Computers are very essential part of our life as almost everything is moving towards digital from GP surgery appointments to online shopping and council services and it is very important to have a computer or laptop to access these services. 

The event was attended by many local residents and dignitaries including Councillors, Ex Mayor and a famous folk singer travelled specially from Pakistan to attend the ceremony.

The event was coincided with Pakistan Day celebrations and may children performed talent show and patriotic songs to mark the independence day. 

Nasir Jamil  Founder and Chairman of Jamil Trust said he is delighted to open this wonderful project as it will have two main objectives, first to provide financial relief to the public by providing free computers which will be donated by generous people and secondly it will help reduce waste which would have been caused by throwing old computers to the waste. 

Nasir was Presented by Community Leadership Award

Greg Clark presented Nasir Jamil a community leadership award to recognise his hard work and innovative idea of setting up this charity which will benefit millions in the UK and across the world. 

Nasir Jamil was feeling privileged and honoured to receive this award. He said he will continue his work as he is very passionate about the community and love to help others. 

At the sam etime he appealed to the public to come forward and donate their old technology.
